Hermosa Beach Triathlon

NOTICE

Triathlon Map

The Hermosa Beach Triathlon is taking place on Sunday, October 13, 2002. The race will include a bicycle course that will cover portions of Hermosa Avenue, Valley Drive and Ardmore Avenue. Attached is a map showing the affected areas. Barricades will go up starting at 4:00 AM on Sunday.

Hermosa Avenue is posted "NO PARKING - Towaway" October 13, 2002 4:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Vehicles will be towed if left on the southbound side of the center divider along Hermosa Avenue between 10th Street and Herondo Street.

Please remove your vehicle the night before to avoid being towed. The bicycle portion of the race will start at 7:00 AM and vehicles will not be able to cross the course if bicycles are present. Please use the attached directions and map if you need to leave the area. If you live west of Hermosa Avenue use Beach Drive, go south to Hermosa Avenue. If you live east of Hermosa Avenue, use Monterey at Pier Avenue or Herondo Street to exit to the south. If you live north of Pier Avenue go north on Hermosa Avenue, Manhattan, or Monterey to 27th Street/Gould Avenue and exit east.

Expect delays! Park your vehicle east of Ardmore Saturday night if you want to get out of the affected area Sunday morning.

Please be patient and follow the directions of officers or volunteers.

We apologize for any inconvenience. We appreciate your patience. The course will be closed from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Please do not call the police department, as there is nothing we can do to help you during the race. If you have any suggestions as how to improve the traffic flow you can call Sgt.
