STATEMENT OF: Peter Tucker

CANDIDATE FOR: Member of City Council

I have lived and worked in Hermosa Beach for the last 27 years. For the last six years I have been a member of the Planning Commission and have served as its Chairman. I have been a member of the R.U.D.T.; I built the Hermosa Veterans Memorial; rebuilt the Vetter Windmill, participated in the Christmas Toy Wrap, the first Night Committee, and the Green Belt Tree Project. I was president of the Hermosa Little League.

I will seek to enforce the existing conditional use permits. I will work to use UUT taxes for the maintenance and improvement of the streets and sewers in our community. I will work to enforce our existing parking regulations; promote an ongoing review of building standards; encourage the improvement PCH frontage; and work with Redondo Beach on the redevelopment of the Edison Plant. That project will impact on traffic through the community. Downtown businesses should be responsible for added expenses incurred if additional police and cleaning are needed.

I will develop a plan whereby the City coordinates with the School District for emergency planning, including earthquake preparedness.
