STATEMENT OF: Michael Keegan

CANDIDATE FOR: Member of the City Council

As a 13 year resident of Hermosa Beach, Michael Keegan is aware of the unique challenges facing the city today. Major challenges which need to be addressed include our aging streets and sewers, the possible repeal of our utility user tax, and the proliferation of alcohol licenses.

Michael is a local business owner and hears what his customers are saying. Michael has the following priorities for our city:

Reducing crime and the alcohol related violence in our downtown;

Strengthening our city government's and our law enforcement's commitment to public safety and service;

Lobbying county officials to increase capital expenditures and extend the hours of operation of our library;

Establishing a neighborhood specific plan to improve your streets and sewers;

Making Hermosa government more community and family oriented; and

Using his business acumen, financial and strategic planning skills to guide our city through this exciting and challenging period.
