Occupation: City Clerk
Qualifications: Hermosa Beach City Clerk since 1989; 29 years of local government work experience; 37-year resident and homeowner; volunteer involvement with many community nonprofit organizations.
The City Clerk is a nonpolitical working office, which requires an experienced, unbiased officer, able and willing to give a great deal of time to perform numerous duties and ensure compliance with all state and local legal requirements.
Statutory duties include: custodian of all City records; minutes; ordinances; resolutions; deeds; street vacations; easements; liens; encroachments; contracts; public noticing; FPPC filing official; filing officer for City's Conflict of Interest Code; economic disclosure/campaign statements; elections official; clerk of City Council.
As your City Clerk, I instituted a records management program to preserve the recorded history of Hermosa Beach, the City's Municipal Code update, and the City's internet presence. I am currently preparing a handbook for board/commission members and will continue working to maintain and improve open, public access to information and records, including ongoing improvements to the City's website.
I have lived and raised my family in Hermosa Beach since 1966. I know Hermosa Beach and its legislative history. I would like to continue using my knowledge and experience to serve my community. Thank you for your support.
