STATEMENT OF BRIAN MURPHY

CANDIDATE FOR HERMOSA BEACH CITY GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION

Member of the City Council

Hello, my name is Brian Murphy and I have been a Hermosa Beach resident for over nine years.   I have a B.A. from Cal Poly, Pomona and have been running the Food and Beverage division at an L.A.X. area hotel for nearly six years.

Having been part of the community for over nine years I have had the opportunity to speak with numerous residents and have gained an understanding of their concerns.   It is from these conversations that I have reached my/your platform.   I firmly believe that the city councils job is to represent its citizens, not itself, and I am running as a representative of the people.    Therefore my goal as City Councilman is for Hermosa Beach to achieve and maintain a clean, safe and quiet community where all of its inhabitants can live peacefully and enjoy a higher quality of life.

The first step is to address the parking problem and limit the numerous events being held.   Next we must address any environmental issues and achieve and maintain safe staffing levels for our Police and Fire Depts.

I am a committed, hands on, goal oriented person that believes in my community and myself and ask for your vote.
