The Hyperion and Gaffey Street S.A.F.E. centers are open to county residents from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

The Hyperion Center is at 7660 W. Imperial Highway, Gate B, between Vista del Mar and Pershing Drive in El Segundo. The Gaffey Street center is at 1400 N. Gaffey Street in San Pedro.

People can drop off paint and solvents; used motor oil and filters, anti-freeze and other automotive fluids; cleaning products and aerosol cans at the center. Other accepted items include pool and garden chemicals, medicine and automotive and household batteries.

The collection centers also take e-waste such as computers, monitors, printers, network equipment, cables, telephones, televisions, video games and cell phones.
