  1. CALL TO ORDER

    The Cable Television Advisory Commission Meeting of Monday, February 7, 2005 was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

  2. ROLL CALL

    Present: Commissioner Dreher
    Commissioner Ellis
    Commissioner Ferguson
    Commissioner Levine
    Commissioner Padula
    Absent: Commissioner Miller

  3. Introduction of Staff and Commissioners

    Self introductions were made by all present.

  4. Selection of Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson

    Following discussion, the Commission unanimously approved Commissioner Peter Ellis as Chairperson and Commissioner Gene Dreher as Vice-Chairperson.

  5. Goals of the Cable Television Advisory Commission and Background on Cable Television Regulations

    Staff presented an overview of issues relating to cable television regulation and discussed the goals of the Commission. The Commission discussed the need to conduct a community survey to solicit input on cable television needs and interests. The Commission requested additional information on items including: Quarterly Service Complaint Reports, number of dwelling units in the City, technical questions regarding the construction of the system, and current franchise requirements for community programming.

  6. Current Status of existing Hermosa Beach Cable Television Franchise

    Staff provided an update on the existing franchise agreement and status of updating the City’s regulatory ordinance.

  7. Public Comment

    None.

  8. Adjournment

    The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
