A young man
as charming and accommodating as he is handsome, Eric
Fonoimoana came to Hermosa Valley school on Wednesday, the
4th of October, 2000, to greet the admiring youngsters and
display the gold medal won in Sydney, Australia, for beach
volleyball at the 27th Olympic Games of the modern era.
Fonoimoana urged the
assembled 700 plus students to set their goals high and to
work to reach them by concentrating one step at a time on
the small goals. He also stressed
the importance of education, saying that the students
should listen to their teachers and learn as much as they
can, do their homework and work to get good grades, and, go
on to college.
An admirable role model, Fonoimoana, along
with his gold medal winning partner,
Dain Blanton, mentors students at Carson High
School as an opportunity to "give back to other
kids." Eric has also started his own foundation, "Dig
for Kids". For more,

Thank you Eric, you make us all
proud.
